Update on Ol’ Burney and other happenings…
We posted awhile back that the burned up house across the street from us was purchased and that work had begun. We are pleased to announce that Ol’ Burney is almost finished being renovated. It has been converted from a double shotgun duplex to a single family home and has received a facelift. (Originally the plans called for a horrible pumpkin orange paint job, but after some neighborhood objections, the house was repainted a more pleasing yellow and grey/ blue.
The painting is still in progress, so we will post an update once its completed and some landscaping has been done. But its great to see another historic home getting some much needed TLC.
The excitement doesn’t stop there however. Another house on our block has been purchased and is slated to be completely renovated in the next 60 days. It also had some extensive fire damage, but already a crew is hard at work scraping away old paint and damaged wood. Here’s a picture of the stripped down exterior; we’ll be sure to post pictures of its progress as well.
We had the pleasure of meeting our soon-to-be new neighbor and are happy to welcome him to the neighborhood in 2 months. He also has plans to adopt a Weimaraner puppy, which I think may be almost as exciting as his home renovation.
Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of these homes….
